Facebook wants better content and more engagement between content creators and users for a better overall experience. To help make that happen, yesterday they launched Facebook Media, a resource designed, according to the blog,
to highlight great examples and new trends illustrating how public figures, organizations and media are using Facebook to connect with their audiences.
It’s a big idea generator. Go check out the site at media.fb.com.
The main categories
- Getting Started
- Best Practices
- Success Stories
- and the Blog.
The Getting Started and Best Practices sections are probably a little basic for most of you, but worth a once over to see if you’ve missed anything new. I found several references to the new video call to action buttons and a new app called Facebook Mentions.
The good news is when they release new products and features, they should have some decent info and recommendations for using them on the Facebook Media site.
When I look at the site as it stands today, I can tell its aimed at businesses and organizations that are pretty clueless when it comes to posting content on Facebook … And this site IS about content, so don’t go there expecting help with Facebook ads.
I think as the site grows it could be a good resource for ideas. It’s worth adding the Facebook Media blog to your news reader to check in on them from time to time. I’ll be sure to report any newsworthy updates right here.
So, what do you think? What type of content success stories would you like to see on Facebook Media?
